 Celebrating Sugerman

Renowned architect and Bay Harbor resident, Barry Sugerman, was honored at a special cocktail reception hosted by Farrey’s Lighting and Bath in North Miami. Barry’s longtime friend and Air Force buddy Bud Farrey presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of 45 years of architectural excellence. The award was presented on behalf of Farrey’s Lighting and Bath and SocialMiami.com. Sponsors for the event included Dornbracht, Skyy vodka and Teaka Sweet Tea Vodka. Following the award presentation, Barry’s wife Barbara led the 150 guests in singing Happy Birthday to celebrate his 72nd birthday. Paying special tribute were guest speakers: Lennar's Marshall Ames, Keith Trowbridge, for whom Barry designed one of the first ever time-shares in Sanibel Island, stepson Andrew Huber, and eight year old Hayley Huber, Barry's granddaughter and architect-in-training.

Good Bones Grow
The redesign of a 1960-era home in Bay Harbor started out simply enough. The clients, a family of five, set up a number of challenges for Barry Sugerman to update their house and create living spaces that suited the family’s lifestyle. Sugerman was more than up to the challenge...

Beachfront Living Room
When Barry Sugerman redesigned the kitchen of a beachfront condo, his clients realized that the living room and dining room looked dated and tired next to the newly refaced kitchen. So “Sugerman’s Solutions” continues with Phase Two, remodeling the living and dining rooms that are adjacent to the kitchen and providing more storage space, an important element in the redesign.

Kitchen Magician
Redesigning a 17' x 15' beachfront condo kitchen for an empty-nester couple who love to entertain is a breeze for Barry Sugerman. He creates a functional layout that is nautically and aeronautically inspired.
