A record-breaking year was set with more than 700 of South Florida’s most fashionable women attending the 5th Annual Wine, Women & Shoes (WW&S) presented by Sergio Rossi at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami. This fashion-driven event is geared towards women, and benefits the children and families at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. WW&S Miami is the highest revenue-making Wine, Women & Shoes event from more than 175 in the country.

This sophisticated gathering was emceed by seven-time Emmy Award-winner, Maggie Rodriguez, and included a fashion show by Oscar Carvallo Paris who presented his never-before-seen Fall/Winter 2016 collection and latest avant-garde designs. Guests enjoyed wine tastings, a luxurious silent auction, and shopping at the exclusive marketplace featuring unique local boutiques. One lucky guest, Jordan Claure, won the “Key to the Closet” special drawing, featuring a Chopard ‘Happy Sport’ white gold and diamond women’s watch valued at $19,770.

During a special moment at the event, Alessandra, a Nicklaus Children’s patient and guest of honor, shared her inspirational story. Alessandra was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 10 and has undergone a series of treatments, including a painful surgery, to overcome her condition. She is now 16 years old, and with her spine aligned by rods and screws, she decided to transform her experience into a positive by sharing her incredible journey.

The event also marked the anticipated debut of the Oscar Carvallo Fall/Winter 2016 collection. The luxury brand recently celebrated the opening of its new atelier in Miami’s trendy Design District on December 2015. The debut was even more special as guest of honor, Alessandra walked the runway as part of the closing to the show and received a standing ovation.
