More than 150 VIPs recently celebrated the kick-off of the 9th Annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels and Stars Gala at a lavish party hosted by Trump Hollywood, the luxury oceanfront condominium on Hollywood Beach.
Throughout the evening, party-goers dined on delectable hors d’oeuvres, sipped Grey Goose Vodka cocktails and enjoyed the sounds of MTV DJ Mauricio Parra. They also were awed by three spectacular Trump Hollywood model residences from Interiors by Steven G, where they entered to win a weekend stay at Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and a golf foursome at Trump International Golf Club Palm Beach.
The family of a young boy who had suffered from cancer shared his story of perseverance with guests. Thanks to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases, this young patient received lifesaving medical care at no cost to his family.
Charles Phelan, one of the principals of BH III LLC, the new owners and developers of Trump Hollywood, said the team was honored to host such an important organization.
“It was amazing to hear that touching story and learn first-hand the ongoing impact St. Jude and its supporters make on the South Florida community,” Phelan said.
FedEx International CFO and Gala Chairman Julio Barrionuevo thanked Trump Hollywood for hosting the event and introduced the sponsors, honorees and talent for the May 14th Angels and Stars Gala.
“Trump Hollywood was the perfect stage for our kick-off party,” Barrionuevo said.
