NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale celebrated the opening of the exhibition William Glackens with a weekend of festivities that included an elegant cocktail reception and black tie dinner that drew notables from around the country to its modernist building on Las Olas Boulevard.

William Glackens is the first large-scale survey in five decades of this influential artist who played an important role in introducing modern art to America. On view are paintings, drawings and documents from leading public and private collections, many of which have not been seen publicly in over 50 years. The exhibition is co-organized by NSU Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, the Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia, and Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill, NY, where it will also travel.

William Glackens is presented by the Sansom Foundation. Additional support is provided by the Henry Luce Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Vontobel Swiss Wealth Advisors, Christie’s and Funding Arts Broward. The exhibition’s Media Partner is WSVN. The exhibition is supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities.
