Limo to Lunch, a Driven to Dine daytime event in its fourth year, combined great food, mystery, limo rides, and a reception on the second level of Neiman Marcus in the Bal Harbour Shops—and more. The event benefitted the Florida Heart Research Institute. The day started at 10 a.m. with a reception, informal modeling and a live auction with many exciting items. Co-Chairs of the event were Bunny Bastian, Marilyn Cale, and Lana DeSimone.
Guest’s selected a number that told them which limo waiting outside of Neiman Marcus would take them to a first-class restaurant for an unforgettable meal. (This is the mystery part—you didn’t know which restaurant until you arrived.)
Upon arrival to the restaurant, guests were personally greeted by the Chef and staff and treated to a specially prepared meal, along with accompanying wines. After the meal, the awaiting limo took guests back to the reception location, where they all received goodie bags filled with marvelous favors. They each got a photo of the group in front of the limo upon their return.
There is no other event like this in town and people come year after year to enjoy the fabulous and very innovative day. Restaurants participating were: Timo’s, 660 at the Anglers; Bizcaya; City Hall; Peacock Garden Café; Ortanique on the Mile; Scalina Ristorante; Seasons 52; Sustain: Trump International; Truluck’s; Gibraltar at Grove isle Hotel & Spa, Zuckerello’s and Vic and Angelo’s.
