Three hundred guests celebrated healing child trauma at Kristi House's Disco Ball in November at Miami's Four Seasons. Presented by the law firm of Marin, Eljaiek, Lopez & Martinez, the evening was a blast of nostalgia, complete with bell-bottoms, platform shoes, disco dancing, and lots of sparkles.

Guests had a ball reliving the music and dance scene of the 1970s, while they enjoyed a scrumptious gourmet dinner specially created by Four Season's Chef Aaron Brooks, with fine wines and spirits generously provided by Republic National Distributing Company.

The excitement was high with the announcement of a $250,000 Challenge Grant to Kristi House from the Peter and Polly Appel Charitable Fund. This gift inspired guests to unite for the children to meet their challenge! Competition was stiff in the auction of exclusive trips, one-of-a-kind experiences and select luxury items.

Lead sponsors of the Disco Ball included Eller-ITO Stevedoring Company, Kara Zeder & Rick Rosen, and Nina & Camilo Miguel of Mast Capital.

Host Committee sponsors included Rachelle & AJ de Moya; Fran & Howard Feinberg; Teresa Garcia & Robert Scavone Jr.; Marta & Rick Hasty, MD; Dr. Andrea & David Loeb; Karen & Luis Reiter; Lizzie & Drew Schaul; Toni Musante & Tony Sparks; Unbound Miami; Judy & Jon Zeder; and Annie & Nathan Zeder of The Zeder Team.

Table sponsors included Advanced Recovery Systems; The Cerda Family Fund; Cindy & Jeff Gomez; Publix Super Market Charities; Ania & Alex Rodriguez of Key Lime Interactive; Shook Hardy & Bacon, LLP; Swire Properties; TUUCI; Ultimate Software; Ultra Music Festival; and Wansley & Cliff Walters

Funds raised at the Disco Ball will support services for sexually abused and physically abused children and their families, and children who have been commercially sexually exploited. Sadly, childhood sexual abuse is not limited by socio-economic status, race, religion or nationality; however most of the children and families Kristi House treats are low income and would have no other place to turn to for help. Disco Ball proceeds will help ensure that services remain free so that all child-victims get the help they need.
