For the second year Pan American Development Foundation has hosted Heroes of the Hemisphere, an event to celebrate the achievements of outstanding individuals from Latin America. Hosted by Celebrity Cruises aboard the line’s luxurious Solstice®,the 2010 Heroes of the Hemisphere was emceed by Univision’s Satcha Pretto Padilla. Guests were treated to a sumptuous reception upon boarding and then enjoyed lunch and live entertainment leading up to the event's awards ceremony. Honored were five outstanding individuals who have made significant differences in the lives of the most disadvantaged in their communities in the countries of Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico. On hand to mark the occasion were actor Jimmy Jean-Louis (NBC’s Heroes), actress Maria Bello (guest star on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU), Cover Girl model and actress Dania Ramirez, TV host Maria Elvira Salazar, and former NBA star Cliff Robinson. The 2010 corporate honoree was Royal Caribbean Cruises International, and participating sponsors included MTV, Sony Music, Univision, Caterpillar, Greenberg Traurig, Chevron, RCCL and others.
