Amigos For Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect by valuing children, strengthening families and educating communities, celebrated its trademark annual fundraiser, ING Miami Celebrity Domino Night, at Jungle Island. With over 1,800 guests in attendance, the fundraiser was another astounding success for Amigos For Kids, marking ING’s sixth year as the event’s title sponsor, and featuring Bacardi USA as a first-time presenting sponsor.
The success of the event was largely due to the great collaboration and support from the corporate, media and restaurant sponsors. Amigos For Kids depended equally on the participation of its countless volunteers, celebrities, media, community leaders, staff, and individuals, who all gathered to support Amigos’ 19 years of service to children and families through its programs and outreach services to help end the cycle of abuse.
Guests enjoyed domino gaming, dancing, local flavors and dinner-by-the-bite provided by Miami’s extraordinary chefs and restaurants. A stellar silent auction exhibited hundreds of dazzling items featuring Cuban art, sports memorabilia, fine jewelry by Judith Ripka and Sazingg, luxurious travel experiences, and much more. The evening also provided its guests with an open bar courtesy of presenting sponsor, Bacardi USA. Exclusive tastings of the premium Scotch whisky took place in a unique VIP setting at the Dewar’s Momento D Lounge courtesy Dewar’s. Guests enjoyed dancing to riveting performances by R&B funk group, The Valerie Tyson Band, and the event’s headliner, Kukaramakara, Miami’s most popular high-energy Latin fusion band. Hundreds of Miami’s movers and shakers were on hand and basked in the night’s thrilling ambiance well into the wee hours.
