Over 425 guests ventured to the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Miami to celebrate Life's Lasting Love at the American Heart Association's 2010 Miami Heart and Stroke Ball. In the 42 years since the Heart Ball's inception in Miami, never has the event seen such success!

Chaired by University of Miami's Chief Financial Officer Joe Natoli, this year's Heart & Stroke Ball celebrated four recipients of the Big Heart Humanitarian Award. The Big Heart Awards are presented to influential members of the community who have made significant contributions to society. The recipients this year were:Big Heart in Arts - Dennis Scholl of the James S. and John L. Knight Foundation, Big Heart in Business - In memory of Manuel Capo of El Dorado Furniture, Big Heart in Go Red - Loren Ridinger of MarketAmerica, and Big Heart in Goodwill - Dr. Sanford L. The Cor Vitae in Stroke Award was presented to Dr. Roberto Heros, from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Guests heard a special testimonial from father and son, Joe and Joey Natoli. Joe Natoli served as the 2010 Heart and Stroke Ball Chair because of his personal experience with heart disease. His son Joey has been affected by a form of heart disease since the age of six. Joey is now living as a normal 27 year old in New York due to the advancements in treatment made possible by the American Heart Association.
