MOUNT SINAI FOUNDERS CELEBRATE 51ST ANNUAL BALL
Harold & Lila Menowitz are Ball Honorees

With “A Night in Venice” as their theme, the Founders of Mount Sinai Medical Center celebrated their 51st Annual Ball Saturday, March 25, at the Sheraton Bal Harbour Resort and installed 137 new members. The ball generated $5.1 million in philanthropic support that will go toward furthering Mount Sinai’s mission to teach physicians, research advances in medicine and provide more than $36 million in charitable and uncompensated care annually.

Harold and Lila Menowitz were the ball honorees in recognition of their longstanding generosity to Mount Sinai. Originally from New York, Harold Menowitz is a real estate developer and investor, specializing in residential and commercial properties in communities in 28 states across the country.

“Through their generous philanthropic support, Harold and Lila have gone above and beyond to demonstrate their understanding of how important Mount Sinai is to the community,” said Marla Bergmann, president of the Foundation.

The ball’s décor, with custom burgundy tapestry tablecloths and crystal chandelier candelabras, evoked a warm Venetian feel. Stilt walkers, jugglers and mimes entertained during the cocktail hour and after dinner, guests danced to music provided by the Varon Brothers and their 12-piece orchestra.
