With a Gala that offered a journey through an enchanting fairyland, Miami
Children's Museum delighted more than 700 guests with a host of food,
entertainment, prizes and surprises and successfully raised $262,000 for
educational programming! On Saturday, September 30th, the Museum became a
fantasyland of settings and characters from Cinderella to Beauty and the
Beast, from Peter Pan and Captain Hook to Aladdin and the Little Mermaid,
complete with plenty of fun and entertainment. Chairpersons of the Gala were
Marlen Pernetti, DJ Kerr and Constance Fernandez. Jeweled Tiara Sponsors for
the event were Greenberg Traurig and Bacardi, USA, Inc.
Guests were greeted by Cinderella with Prince Charming and her pumpkin coach
as they entered the Museum. Aladdin-themed Arabian musicians and belly
dancers, a strolling violinist playing love songs, and other musicians
including a harpist performed throughout the Museum. A silent auction with
many interesting and unique items, including a children's chair autographed
by the Miami Heat Players and a rocking horse designed by Romero Britto, and
get-away packages, complete with roundtrip airfare from American Airlines,
helped raise more funds.
Magical visitors on hand for the festivities included: MCM Board of Trustee
