It was a picture-perfect night for the cocktail party that was hosted by Rosy Cancela and Fred Snitzer at Rosy’s Coconut Grove home. Cancela, who is chairwoman of the art auction for the third year, and Snitzer, a gallery owner and one of the icons of the art world in South Florida, held the party for serious collectors who attend the yearly fund-raising auction. Last year the auction attracted some of the most noted contemporary Latin American artists in the world and more than 500 guests. In just three short years, the IKF Latin American Art Auction has become known as “The Collector’s Auction.”
The IKF Latin American Art Auction 2007 will be held on Thursday evening November 8, 2007 at the prestigious CIFO (Cisneros Fontanals Arts Foundation) in Miami, for the second year.
This year in addition to the silent and live auctions, there will be a Collector’s Corner, where collectors can donate major pieces of art to be sold at the auction. “Many collectors go in a different direction after a time or they simply don’t have room to hang everything they have purchased,” says Snitzer. “Now they can donate those pieces to the IKF Art Auction and know that they will grace someone else’s home and raise money for a wonderful cause.”
“This event,” says Cancela “makes history because it links both the arts and the medical philanthropic worlds, a never before happening in town. Right now we are looking for sponsors to help underwrite our expenses. Once you learn about the miracles IKF performs—Who Can Say No?”
