Commemorating its 20th anniversary serving Miami’s low-income population, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami held it's annual gala at the Eden Roc. Almost 500 guests arrived to enjoy the evening’s entertainment, which included dancing, a silent auction, and a hilarious performance by best selling author and columnist Dave Barry.
The gala was sponsored by Baptist Health South Florida, WSVN, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Anthony R. Abraham Foundation, and Transatlantic Bank. WSVN anchors Belkys Nerey and Craig Stevens emceed the proceedings, which included a stunning chorale by the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Choir and a heartfelt delivery by longtime Habitat for Humanity supporters Brian and Dr. Suzanne Keeley. Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors president Michael Battle of Keen Battle Mead, gala chairperson Paul Jones of Pyramid Realty, and executive director Anne Manning expressed their gratitude to the attendees for supporting the mission of Habitat for Humanity: to build homes in partnership with low-income families in need of a decent, affordable place to live.
The evening helped to raise funds to build the 20th Anniversary House of Hope, a home for Ms. Bobbie McKenney and her family of six; however, the goal has not yet been reached. If you would like to contribute to this Habitat for Humanity house, please visit www.miamihabitat.org/donate/ or call 305.634.3628.
