The American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys held its 27th Annual Ball at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne with more than 400 prominent and influential community leaders and philanthropists in attendance for a night of elegance, exquisite food, elegant décor, music and dancing. The Red Cross Ball commemorated its 27th year of fundraising with the help of an exceptional committee of volunteers that raised more than $500,000.
Since 1982, the Red Cross Ball has been established as one of Miami’s most prestigious social fundraising events. Former NBC 6 anchor Jennifer Valoppi served as Mistress of Ceremonies of the event, which was chaired by Miami and Palm Beach philanthropists Brenda and Robert Castellano and featured singing of the national anthem by CBS 4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez.
One of the evening’s highlights was the announcement of the winner of a new 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLK 350 Cabriolet. Guests also participated in drawings for a 10-14-night European cruise for two from Azamara Cruises and a $5,000 shopping spree at Neiman Marcus Coral Gables. Guests who made a minimum donation to the Red Cross were also eligible to win his and hers diamond watches from DeBeers.
