On Saturday December 1st the American Nicaraguan Foundation held its seventh fundraising gala with a complete Nicaraguan extravaganza theme as the fifteenth anniversary of the foundation was celebrated at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami. With more than 700 guests and more than 40 corporate and individual sponsors the night was magical!!

The night was showered with beauty as Miss Nicaragua 2007 Xiomara Blandino, Miss World University 2007 Cristina Frixione, Miss Mexico 2007 Rosa Maria Ojeda and Miss Dominican Republic 2006 Mia Taveras, wearing Rafael Cennamo couture attended the gala and welcomed the guests along with ANF founders Alfredo & Theresita Pellas and gala Chair Maria Amanda Rodriguez accompanied by her husband Jorge Rodriguez.

The food, the ambiance and the music were a celebration of the Nicaraguan culture, its people and its history. After dinner a drawing was held to win the exclusive and unique "Virtus White" watch donated by Girard-Perregaux one of its kind in the world that was won by Silvio F. Pellas Jr. The Emcees of the event were Diana Diaz from WSVN Channel 7 and Ivan Taylor Telemundo Channel 51. Without a doubt the Essence of Nicaragua 2007 gala was one of the best events of the year.
