Hundreds experienced the fun of Bourbon Street right here in South Florida at the Love and Hope Magical Mardi Gras gala at the Diplomat Beach Resort. Spearheaded by local philanthropist and Love and Hope Executive Chairman Sandra Levy, the festive evening and preview party helped raise more than $400,000 for the cure-focused work of the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine.

10th Annual Flamenco Festival Miami
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County launched its 10th annual Flamenco Festival Miami on March 2 with star-studded appearances both on stage and on the red carpet. The annual festival, which has been enjoyed by more than 75,000 guests to date, returned to the Center’s magnificent Knight Concert Hall for a weekend celebration of Spanish culture, including three U.S. premieres.
2nd Annual 365 Party Presented by Cartier
Miami’s business, civic and philanthropic community gathered at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami for its annual 365 Party. This year’s event honored visionary civic leader Alberto Ibargüen, President of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and philanthropists Ray Ellen and Allan Yarkin, members of ICA Miami’s Founders Circle, for their ongoing contributions to Miami’s arts communities. Guests were treated to a special performance by renowned choreographer Michael Clark and an exclusive DJ set by groundbreaking electronic producer Total Freedom.
Winter Wonderful 2016
The Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music of the University of Miami welcomed over 300 patrons and guests to Winter Wonderful, the school’s annual gala holiday dinner at the J.W. Marriott Marquis, with proceeds going to support the Donna E. Shalala MusicReach Program, inspiring and encouraging local youth in South Florida to succeed in school and in life.
Highlights of the Winter Wonderful evening included a sparkling cocktail reception, a sumptuous three-course holiday dinner and joyous musical performances. The Frost Choral Union were accompanied with beautiful holiday arrangements featuring the Frost Holiday Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Karen Kennedy, program director for Choral Studies. The evening also featured a festive presentation by Donna E. Shalala MusicReach mentors and mentees.
