Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program celebrated a marquee moment on 20 years of giving back at their annual black-tie Gala chaired by Marisa Toccin Lucas. Held at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami on Brickell Key, the noted non-profit is dedicated to inspiring, motivating and empowering at-risk young women that was founded by Jennifer Valoppi, Don Browne along with the Honorable Katherine Fernandez Rundle.
Flamenco Festival Miami 2018 Opening Night
The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County celebrated the anticipated opening night of its 11th annual Flamenco Festival Miami. Known as the biggest festival of flamenco dance and music in the Southeast, the Center’s Flamenco Festival Miami 2018 kicked off with the world’s greatest exponent of Spanish dance – Ballet Nacional de España. The captivating performance was attended by nearly 1,500 fans at the Center’s John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall.
60th Anniversary Little Gems, Big Glow Gala
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, along with presenting partners Carnival Foundation and Carnival Corporation and honorary chair Edie Laquer, hosted the nonprofit youth mentoring organization's "60th Anniversary Little Gems, Big Glow" gala on Saturday, March 3 at JW Marriott Marquis. Organizers successfully raised $1.4 million as hundreds of Miami's corporate and philanthropic elite joined community leaders, supporters and volunteers at the annual fundraiser for an evening of cocktails and a reception, followed by a gourmet dinner and dancing. This year's event included a special performance by the Gipsy Kings featuring Andre Reyes.
2018 GMJF Main Event
More than 1,000 members of Miami's Jewish community gathered for a powerful program at the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Main Event at the Hilton Miami Downtown. Chaired by Nadine and Steve Foldes, the event raised funds for the Federation/UJA Campaign in order to care for people in need, support vital programs and strengthen Jewish life in Miami, in Israel and in more than 70 other countries around the world. The evening featured remarks from community leaders, including Federation Board Chair Amy N. Dean and Federation General Campaign Chair Jeffrey Scheck.
