15th Annual United Way Women’s Leadership Breakfast
United Way of Miami-Dade welcomed more than 1,000 women to the 15th Annual Women’s Leadership Breakfast, with special guest speaker, Aerin Lauder, creative director and founder of the lifestyle brand AERIN. Speaking about the history of the Estée Lauder Companies, Aerin shared some of the wisdom and lessons she inherited from her grandmother, drawing comparisons between business and charitable work.
The breakfast was held at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami, its home for the past 10 years. UHealth, Sue Miller and Leslie Miller Saiontz were the presenting sponsors.
8th Annual Champion of the Arts Luncheon
Citizens Interested in Arts hosted its 8th annual Champion of the Arts luncheon on January 24. The 200 guests at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables were greeted by Hollis Freimark, CIA's president. It was Joseph Adler Day in the city according to the proclamation by Mayor Jim Cason to honor the Producing Artistic Director of GableStage who received the 2016 Champion of the Arts Award.
The proclamation was given to Adler by Donna Spain, Historical and Cultural Arts Director of the City of Coral Gables, and presented by Christine Dolen, South Florida's best known theater reviewer. Lenore Toby Simmons, Event Chair, along with her Co-Chair, Denise Wolpert, organized the Champion of the Arts event.

The 2016 Pacesetter Event
Nearly 500 of Miami’s most committed Jewish philanthropists came together on Thursday, December 17 for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation 2016 Pacesetter Event at the Hilton Miami Downtown.
The Pacesetter Event was co-chaired by Allison and Jerry Sokol and Jessie and Bernard Wolfson. Federation Board Chair Robert G. Berrin and General Campaign Chair Amy N. Dean spoke passionately about the important work of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. The Annual Federation/UJA Campaign provides funding to more than 100 social-service, humanitarian and educational agencies and programs in Miami, in Israel and in more than 70 other countries across the globe. This event also recognized members of Miami’s Jewish community who have created legacies through The Foundation of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and the Create a Jewish Legacy initiative.
Women of Tomorrow Announce 2016 Gala Honorees
Founder and president Jennifer Valoppi and Philanthropic and Gala Chair Marisa Toccin Lucas, along with founders Don Browne and Katherine Fernandez Rundle, welcomed Women of Tomorrow’s supporters and patrons to announce the 2016 Gala honorees. Gala honorees include Humanitarian Chairs Trish and Dan Bell; Legacy Builder Honorees Laurie and Tom Cunnington; Excellence Honoree, Baptist Health South Florida; and Mentor of the Year, Nancy Frehling. The Women of Tomorrow Annual Gala will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami.
