Details
Immerse yourself in the vibrant musical canvases by two of France’s greatest orchestral artists alongside global conducting sensation Roberto Abbado. The sun-dappled pastoral setting of Claude Debussy’s dreamlike symphonic poem Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun is pure serenity. Based on the poem by Stéphane Mallarmé, Debussy’s revolutionary take on the flute-playing faun shimmers with its translucent palette of sound. Fall head first into the impassioned romance and wondrous opium-fueled dreams of Hector Berlioz’s legendary Symphonie fantastique. From its whirlwind waltzes to demonic hallucinations, hear why MTT calls this “unabashed melodrama” an epic “orchestral sonic spectacular!” Tickets are $38 to $95.
