LIV night club at The Fontainebleau got its groove on as the Overtown Music Project (OMP), spearheaded by Amy Rosenberg, moved one step closer to bringing the music back to Overtown permanently and funding its jazz and blues residency. The Fontainebleau generously donated its marquee nightclub to OMP for a mash up of big band and hip hop. Melton Mustafa (who worked with Count Basie) helmed an 18 piece big band and Mistress of Ceremonies and recording artist Monie Love (“Monie in the Middle”) took the audience through a presentation of the “Harlem of the South.”
