Members of the Museum of Contemporary Art enjoyed several special art related events in April at different venues around the city. MOCA Patron members were invited to Charest-Weinberg Gallery in Wynwood for a Contemporary Art Access tour with artist John Espinosa who introduced his new exhibition “The Forest”. Immediately following, at Cafeina Lounge, collector Mike Margulies hosted a cocktail party for members of the MOCA Leadership Circle where he spoke about his experience growing up with contemporary art and forming his own collection. A few days later, a sold-out Enchanted Evenings dinner for 70 was held in a private residence on Indian Creek Island. Guests were given tours of the host’s world renowned collection and afterward enjoyed an elegant dinner by Biscayne Bay. MOCA Bash Surf's Up committee members and volunteers met for a special appreciation brunch hosted by Canyon Ranch Hotel and Spa where they celebrated the fundraisers’ great success and finally Nina Johnson, owner of Gallery Diet in Wynwood, hosted MOCA Leadership Circle members who became part of BOUNTY a participatory food performance by Jason Hedges, a Miami based artist whose work centers primarily on food. Hedges work with food and guests were invited to eat his creation which was served with champagne provided by Ruinart.
