Miami Children’s Museum celebrated the past, present and future with a recent reception honoring their most generous supporters. Excitement is at an all time high at the Museum as renovations continue following the Museum’s extensive master plan. In 2015 the Museum added My Green Home and Sketch Aquarium, and in the last 4 months, have unveiled 2 state of the art galleries - the Publix Super Market exhibit and Baptist Children’s Hospital Health and Wellness Center. At the Donor Reception the Museum welcomed world-renowned artist Remo Saraceni, who will play a big part in the development of the new Music Gallery. Remo is best known for inventing the Big Piano™ from the movie BIG. In addition to the Music Gallery, the Bank of America exhibiti and the Sea and Me toddler space will undergo extensive renovations. Also, Miami Children’s Museum will be working in partnership with Miami International Airport to unveil a children’s aviation exhibit in concourse E this summer. The momentum continues into 2017 as the Museum will renovate the Carnival cruise ship and redevelop Everglades Park in partnership with Florida International University to create a water play exhibit that will educate children and families about sea level rise. The Museum will also revitalize the entry courtyard to include an interactive water feature. The Museum has welcomed nearly 5 million visitors since it opened on Watson Island in 2003, made possible by the continued support of the board, donors and stakeholders.
