Fairchild took the first step towards realizing a dream years in the making when ground was broken on what will be the brand new, state-of-the-art Paul and Swanee DiMare Science Village complex. The two-story Joyce and M. Anthony Burns building and adjoining Dr. Jane Hsiao laboratories will serve to open the scientific world to local students from Pre-Kindergarten all the way through graduate school, while the Clinton Family Conservatory and refurbished café serving locally-grown foods will delight visitors from near and far. Over 400 members of the Fairchild family, including several local dignitaries, staff, volunteers and members attended they groundbreaking, where they enjoyed inspirational words from project donors, a delicious breakfast, some hot cocoa and the gorgeous Miami “winter” weather.
