Sun Sports HEAT TV broadcasters Eric Reid and Tony Fiorentino honored leading sports icons and philanthropic heroes of our community at the annual Reid & Fiorentino Call Of The Game Dinner & Celebrity Golf Classic. The event benefitted Lauren’s Kids and the Dade Schools Athletic Foundation. The dinner, hosted by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, set the stage for Miami Dolphins Hall of Famer Dan Marino to receive the evening’s most prestigious award, The Don Shula Sports Legend Award presented by the legendary coach Don Shula. Additional honorees taking the stage were Joe Zagacki, the winner of The Sonny Hirsch Excellence in Sports Broadcasting Award; Romero Britto, winner of The Ted Arison Community Service Award; and to commemorate the legendary broadcaster Jim Mandich, The Jim Mandich Courage and Commitment Award was presented to the inspiring local basketball coach Jeffrey Fogel, who continues to coach and inspire young athletes despite being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2012. Joe Rose served as emcee for the evening, and guests enjoyed a performance by recording artist Phyllisia Ross. The Celebrity Golf Classic, Presented by Acordis, took place at Turnberry Isle Miami with more than 55 foursomes competing, each paired with a celebrity team captain. Prizes were awarded at the post-golf awards reception.
