The Archdiocese of Miami celebrated its 55th Anniversary at the 2013 Archbishop’s Gala: A Church For The Poor, held at the Miami Downtown Hilton. Over one thousand guests attended, making this the single largest fundraising event in archdiocesan history. Pam Giganti of NBC6 served as the Master of Ceremonies and introduced the Lourdes Singers who performed “Angels Among Us.” Gala guests danced to the music of popular bands, The Gypsy Kings and Soul Survivor. Over $1 million was raised to fund social outreach initiatives that serve the poor through programs within the Archdiocese of Miami, including outreach to the elderly, ministry to the homeless, feeding the poor, serving the disabled and disadvantaged, and refugee and immigration services.
