In honor and celebration of Miami City Ballet’s Manhattan Debut at New York City Center, Lora and Fred Drasner held an extraordinary evening of festivities. The evening included an invitation-only, black-tie pre-performance dinner followed by Miami City Ballet’s opening performance, featuring Rubies, Square Dance, and Symphony in C. Following the performance, a champagne and dessert reception was held in the mezzanine lobby of New York City Center.

Miami City Ballet held six performances at New York City Center. The theater has long been known and beloved by New York audiences not only as one of the city’s preeminent performing art institutions but also as an accessible and welcoming venue for dance and theater. New York City Center produces the Tony-honored Encores! musical theater series and its new Encores! Summer Stars series, and is home to some of the country’s leading dance companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, Paul Taylor Dance Company and Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, as well as Manhattan Theatre Club, one of New York’s leading theater companies.

Miami City Ballet (MCB), under the Artistic Direction of Edward Villella since its founding in 1986, is among the largest ballet companies in the United States.
