The Dominican Republic Consulate in Miami hosted an event in honor of Margarita Cedeño de Fernández, the First Lady of the Dominican Republic, at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. Guests enjoyed a runway fashion show featuring the latest collections from renowned designers presented by Miami fashion guru Godfrey del Rio, a concert performed by international artists and an elegant dinner. Los Niños de las Calles, one of the many programs managed by the First Lady, was the beneficiary of the evening's fundraising. This organization offers programs to reduce child mortality rates, as well as scholarships and school breakfasts for the most needy children in the Dominican Republic.
