WPBT2 Celebrates Downton Abbey at Actors’ Playhouse

The newly formed South Florida PBS (WXEL and WPBT2) celebrated its official launch and offered an exclusive preview of the acclaimed Downton Abbey program at the iconic Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theater, with a very select and distinguished group of guests, which included fans of Downton Abbey, board members, and supporters.

During the screening event, sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Coral Gables, Lovables, Wine 41 and Actors Playhouse at the Miracle Theater, South Florida PBS Board Member, Peter Bermont welcomed everyone and announced the exciting news about the merger between WXEL (Boynton Beach) and WBPT2 (North Miami). South Florida PBS now represents the 7th largest TV market in the United States. He also remarked on the phenomenal success and impact of Downton Abbey.

The event consisted of a cocktail hour followed by the screening of a preview of the first episode of Downton Abbey. Attached please find pictures highlighting some of the guests and moments of this wonderful evening.

Downton Abbey’s first episode of its final season will premiere on January 3rd at 9 PM on WXEL and WBPT2 (South Florida PBS).
