Switchboard of Miami All-Star Awards Luncheon
The awards finalists in six categories
Celebrate and support Miami-Dade County's nonprofit organizations at the 3rd Annual All Star Awards Luncheon, presented by the Miami Dolphins and hosted by Switchboard of Miami.
Finalists for the categories of Leadership, Innovation, Collaboration, Volunteerism, MVP and Rookie of the Year have been announced, and the winners will be recognized on Friday, October 17, at Jungle Island. The finalists are:
Health Council of South Florida: The state designated local health planning agency for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
FANM: Founded in 1991 to work for the "social and political empowerment" of Haitian women and their families.
SAVE: The leading LGBTQ advocacy organization based in South Florida, promoting equal rights for all Americans.
Aqua Foundation: Serves as the funding catalyst for LBT wellness and equality in South Florida through grants, scholarships and initiatives.
The CLEO Institute: Supports and promotes initiatives that advance environmental literacy and civic engagement.
Lotus House Sundari Foundation: Dedicated to the support, education, advancement and social inclusion of poor, disadvantaged and homeless women and children.
Institute for Child and Family Health: Providing health, behavioral health, educational, and prevention services to the children, adolescents, and families of Miami-Dade County for over 60 years.
Chapman Partnership: Assisting homeless men, women and children in transitioning off the streets of Miami-Dade County and on their way to attaining greater stability and self-sufficiency in their lives since 1995.
Educate Tomorrow: Creates independence for disadvantaged and foster youth through education, mentoring, and life skills training.
Belafonte TACOLCY Center: Provides a safe and enriching environment where children and families are equipped to explore life's options, make positive choices, and strengthen themselves and their community. Our primary goal is to "Empower Families to Realize Their Dreams."
Project Access: Providing excellent health and community based services to help improve the quality of life to the uninsured and underinsured residents of Miami Dade County.
RJT Foundation: A safe haven to families of murdered children to share their feelings and grief with other families that have experienced the same tragic loss. Assist families through the grieving process offer on-going support, education, prevention, advocacy and awareness.
It's My Birthday: Celebrates the birthdays of underprivileged children while teaching them life skills and empowering them to make a difference in the world, regardless of their circumstance.
iAM ABLE Fitness: Provides survivors of spinal cord injury (SCI) and paralysis with various wellness programs and knowledge that will maximize their health and understanding increasing independence and potential of recovery.
Little Lighthouse Foundation: Assists children and their families in South Florida who struggle with educational, financial, and medical hardships.
Miami Rescue Mission: Helping men, women, and children with meals, safe shelter, and life-changing residential programs resulting in transformed lives.
Youth Fishing Foundation: Provides environmental education, conservation, citizenship, fun for kids ages 6-17.
City Reach Ministries: Assisting low income families in South Miami-Dade County by providing food and other basic necessities, job assistance, spiritual counseling and referrals to other organizations for additional needs.
Miami Bridge Foundation: Miami-Dade County’s only 24-hour emergency shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned youth ages 10-17.
Dress for Success Miami: Promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
No More Tears: Providing individualized assistance to victims of domestic violence in the U.S. No More Tears works with victims of domestic violence by providing them with legal counsel, financial assistance and psychotherapy.
Branches: For 40 years has served, educated and inspired people through student, family and financial stability services. Branches provides long-term, holistic services for motivated individuals and families.
