Gala Gals

Nicole Lozano and Nancy Batchelor chair the Galaxy Gala

Nancy & Jonathan Batchelor

This year’s Miami Science Museum gala will be co-chaired by two veteran gala chairs, Nicole Lozano and Nancy Batchelor. Both are no strangers to fundraising successfully for Miami’s leading non-profits and under their leadership, this year’s event is expected to top last year’s highly successful affair.

The event, set to take place at the JW Marriott Marquis, will literally blow guests out of the water. The festivities will have an aquatic theme inspired by the new Museum’s planned 500,000 gallon aquarium, which will be the world’s first gulfstream tank.

Batchelor is a leading realtor to CEOs, celebrities, international investors, and upscale families in South Florida specializing in luxury homes. She and husband Jonathan Batchelor have been supporters of the Miami Science Museum for more than two decades. Nancy has been involved with the coordination of the Galaxy Gala since 2010, and also dedicated her time to the American Cancer Society, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, the University of Miami Leadership Council and the University of Miami Pediatrics Department, the Gifting Committee of The Batchelor Foundation, and the Humane Society of Miami-Dade County.

Lozano is a third-generation Miamian who has lived in the Magic City her entire life. She and husband Edgar Lozano reside in Miami Beach and own one of the largest flower import companies in the nation. The Lozanos are long-time supporters of the Miami Science Museum and Nicole has helped put together the Galaxy Gala for the last three years. She has a long history of giving in Miami-Dade County serving such organizations as American Red Cross, the Vizcayans, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the American Cancer Society.

The co-chairs have led a stellar committee of leaders of Miami’s business and philanthropic communities to ensure this year’s gala will be an event that the museum will be proud of and an unforgettable experience for all who attend. Guests will be wowed with elements such as live fish tanks, an LED screen over the dance floor that will make them feel like they are under the sea, and a few more wonderful surprises.
