The 5th anniversary celebration of the Women of Distinction & Caring Luncheon will honor five Mothers and Daughters who have jointly excelled in community leadership, volunteerism and philanthropic service in support of the South Florida community. The addition of the 2012 honorees, soon to be announced, will bring the number of women so recognized to thirty.

Women of Distinction & Caring 2008: Sonja Zuckerman, Josefina Carbonell, Sandy Sears, Heather Rohan, and Diana Gonzalez.

Women of Distinction & Caring 2009: The Honorable Carrie P. Meek, Schatzi Kassal, Sandra Levy, Diane Magnum, and Victoria Villalba.”

Women of Distinction & Caring 2010: Marlene Berg, Melanie Cohen, Katherine Fernandez Rundle, Tracy Wilson Mourning, and Jennifer Valoppi.

Women of Distinction & Caring 2011: Norma Jean Abraham, Rosy Cancela, Thelma Anderson Gibson, Linda Levy Goldberg, and Rachel Sapoznik.

The dynamic duos will be introduced at the annual luncheon with a video telling their stories, created by award winning journalist and filmmaker Jerry Levine. Kathy Simkins is the National Love & Hope Gala Chair. Scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2012, the event will begin with an 11 a.m. champagne reception and lavish silent auction, followed by lunch and the program.
