Frankenstein Screening & Music

Thursday, October 27 at 8 p.m.
Miami Dade College Kendall Campus Wind Symphony and Orchestra will present Frankenstein at Pinecrest Gardens with a special guest appearance of composer Phil Collins. Enjoy a unique evening of music, madness and film and join Collins, who will give a half-hour talk, followed by a performance of the score by the MDC Wind Symphony accompanying a showing of the 1926 silent film. Collins composed the film score for the original Frankenstein silent film. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission is free.

Deathscribe Miami

They say that story telling is in the blood. This Halloween, you are invited to an evening of ghoulish radio horror and drinks! Deathscribe Miami is a night of radio horror plays featuring Wildclaw Theatre’s Foley artists, musicians, and a cast of top Chicago talent from the award-winning storefront scene. Deathscribe Miami offers the best stories pulled from the company’s eight years of shows. They’ll bring these top tales of terror along with their whole cabinet of horrors to the Arsht Center for four consecutive nights Halloween Weekend. Each night they will present the top five alongside live musical performances in a best-of showcase, hosted by Artistic Director and three-time Deathscribe host, Josh Zagoren. A prize will be awarded each night for best Halloween costume! Performances are 8 p.m. except on Sunday when the show begins at 7. Tickets are $39. Cash bar.

Screenings of Frankenstein and Blood for Dracula

Thursday, October 27 at 6:30 and 8 p.m.
Perez Art Museum Miami and Secret Celluloid Society will present a creature double feature of Frankenstein (1973) at 6:30 p.m. and Blood for Dracula (1974) at 8 p.m., cult classics written and directed by Paul Morrissey. Enjoy seasonally-inspired happy hour specials and movie concessions and receive free admission if you arrive in costume (no masks please). Due to movie content, this event is for adults only. 2nd Annual Haunted Ballet

Thursday – Saturday, October 27 – 29 at 8 and 9:30 p.m.
The spirits come alive at The Haunted Ballet, an event for the Eyes, Ears and Soul! Two performances nightly for his unique, open-air dance concept featuring professionally choreographed dances performed by some of Miami’s most talented artists across the five acre property. The dancers will be portraying fictional characters based on the history of Coconut Grove, focusing on the late 17th to early 18th century. The costumes are a collection of vintage and thrift finds, specially altered for the Haunted Ballet. Participating choreographers are Ray Sullivan, Andrea Murillo, Andrea Dawn Shelley, Ivonne Batanero, Sandra Portal-Andreu, Teddy Talbot and Crystal Peattie. Admission is a donation of $20 or more.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Friday, October 28 at 8 p.m.
Pinecrest Gardens will present a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf) and a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” No Rocky Horror Picture Show is complete without an emcee, audience participation and prizes for the best costume. BYO Props. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission is free.

SOMETHING’S BREWING AFTER DARK 21+

Co-chaired by Terese Ingram and Keith Saunders, Miami Children’s Museum’s Playmakers will host their Something’s Brewing After Dark event. Spooky Zoo Nights

Presented by The Children’s Trust, this free family fun Halloween event features ghoulishly wonderful music performed by the Alhambra Orchestra and Greater Miami Youth Symphony. The Spooky Symphony is comprised of the Most Beautiful Scary Music Ever Heard – musical scores from Star Wars and King Kong, plus creepy classics Danse Macabre, Toccata and Fugue and Night on Bald Mountain. It will be a Steamy, Dark night this Halloween as Nikki Beach Miami is turned into a three-ringed circus complete with chills and thrills, freaks and geeks. The Eighth installment of Vitamin C’s infamous Reel Horror Ball will be nothing short of Thrilling as it kicks off its American Horror Story Freak Show theme.
