FNO from Worth Avenue to Dadeland

Allison Weiss Brady's must attend events

We’ve made it! The Beacon Council, Miami-Dade County’s official economic development partnership, just announced that Miami-Dade is among the leaders of host locations around the world to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out 2011. The night will be filled with stellar combinations of the Magic City’s top retailers partnering with some of the most influential and groundbreaking non-profits to make a major difference in our community. Here are some of the best parties on my list:

BAL HARBOUR SHOPS:

De Beers Book Launch to benefit Gene Spotlight, 7:30 p.m.

For the second year in a row, De Beers and the Miami-based non-profit Gene Spotlight have partnered for one of the chicest, must-attend events at Bal Harbour Shops for Fashion’s Night Out 2011. Gene Spotlight, which is supported by Russell Simmons, the NBA, and the Florida Marlins, funds medical research into treatment and cures for the over 7,000 rare genetic disorders that afflict 25 million Americans.

With gorgeous diamonds and champagne dreams, this year’s Fashion’s Night Out soiree at De Beers at Bal Harbour Shops will serve as the South Florida launch of De Beers Jewellery, a beautifully produced luxury book, published by Assouline, that provides an insider’s glimpse into the fascinating world of diamonds. Priced at $165, the silk-bound book is a perfect gift for anyone who wears or admires jewels! Now I just have to convince my husband to buy me what’s on page 114!

Please contact BHFNO@DEBEERS.COM for further information.

VILLAGE OF MERRICK PARK:

Neiman Marcus Coral Gables to benefit Friends of New World Symphony, Adrienne Arsht Center’s Green Room Society, and MAM Contemporaries, 6:30 p.m.

Following up on one of the best event’s of last year’s FNO, Neiman Marcus Coral Gables at the Village of Merrick Park welcomes emcee Suzy Buckley and host committee Lydia Touzet, Stacey Glassman, Camille Diaz, Mariela Espasas, and more where you can ping pong to your heart’s content courtesy of Chalk Ping Pong & Billards Lounge, shop in Ocean Drive’s Pop-Up shop, and chill in the SocialMiami.com Sweet & Savory Lounge. Bring a date and accessorize your Hanky Panky with rhinestones and appliqués! Enjoy Grey Goose cocktails created by mixologists from Miami’s most fabulous restaurants, including Soho Beach House, Sra. Martinez – A Michelle Bernstein Restaurant, Sustain Restaurant + Bar, and STK. Always fun and fashion-forward, look for the Fall Trend Runway presentation and rock to the beats of DJ Rascal. Maybe if you’re dressed to impress, they might just throw you on the runway too!

WORTH AVENUE, PALM BEACH:
Worth Avenue-wide celebration of all things fashion, stores include Chanel, Betteridge, Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch, Valentino, and more, 6 p.m.

Head to Hibiscus Plaza, a nook of a plaza in the middle of Worth Avenue, where you’ll get to view the new 2012 Fisker Karma, the world’s first premium plug-in hybrid vehicle. I’ve heard it’s amazing! Then skip across the street to the Gucci Courtyard where there are mini massages courtesy of The Spa. Four Seasons chefs will have delectable light fare and a special Fashion’s Night Out sangria, served while Miami's own Latin Jazz band Urban Gypsy serenades guests.

AVENTURA MALL:

Macy's Fashion Presentation with Jill Zarin, 6 p.m.

Real Housewives of New York’s Jill Zarin will host the live fashion presentation on the second level at Macy’s Fashion Store at Aventura Mall. See the hottest fall trends and be among the first 100 shoppers to spend $50 and meet Jill and receive a complimentary cosmetics clutch. And speaking of cosmetics, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel will be offering free makeup consultations, and the guys will be treated to facials and skin analysis from Lab Series on Macy's first floor. In Macy’s Men's and Home Store, celebrity chef Ana Quincoces will be whipping up Breakfast for Dinner with pancakes and eggs and a delicious guava drink. Enjoy live music while you shop as Miami's own DJ Irie gets the party started spinning his signature energetic beats presented by Guilty by Gucci.

MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT:

Turchin Love and Light Collection, 6 p.m.

Want to do something calming during FNO? Turchin Love and Light jewelry is celebrating Fashion’s Night Out by hosting two Buddhist monks at their Atlas Plaza location (130 N.E. 40th Street). Most people don't talk about fashion and Buddhist monks in the same sentence; but Turchin has a philosophy of love, light and world peace so inviting monks makes perfect sense to them.

The monks from Temple Wat Buddharangsi will be giving out Peace and Compassion bracelets from 7:30 to 9:30.

DADELAND MALL:
SAKS FIFTH AVENUE, Benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami, Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program, and Humane Society of Greater Miami, 6 p.m.

Join Saks Dadeland for style, makeovers, and music to benefit several charities, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami, a nonprofit I’ve been involved with for over seven years. Co-Hosted by Irene Korge and Norma Jean Abraham, be sure and head to the ground floor for the FENDI Fatto a Mano event, where you can choose from exotic leather and trims to design your very own one-of-a-kind Selleria handbag.
