Love is in the Air

AWB is feeling romantic

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, AWB was on the wedding beat with behind the scenes access to two fabulous weddings – Jennifer Diliz and Amy Zakarin. It’s a romantic rendezvous in this latest edition from the Social Scribe.

It’s that time of year, when hearts are full, restaurants are booked, and Tiffany’s is busy selling jewelry.

Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day. And what better way to celebrate than to recognize the recent weddings of some of Miami’s best social stars – Jennifer Diliz to Ariel Galan, and Amy Zakarin to Isaac Rosenberg.

Jennifer Diliz’s fairytale wedding was the culmination of the best that Miami has to offer.

I accompanied the bride to J Del Olmo bridal store on Miracle Mile, where we were joined by the bride’s mother, as well as SocialMiami’s own fashion guru Elysze Held, who styled the bride and whole wedding party.

Feverishly looking for the perfect dress, the salesperson pulled out an award-winning Katerina Bocci dress from a recent trunk show. And there it was! Every girl’s dream-come-true. Hand-crafted of duchess satin; jewels that would make Kate Middleton swoon; and curves that would make Kate Moss want to eat a meal. The dress was simply stunning. And I couldn’t have been any happier for the bride.

The ceremony at the Coral Gables Congregational Church was absolutely beautiful, followed by the reception at the Coral Gables Country Club where the bride and groom celebrated with an intimate group of family and friends including Selecta’s Nora Bulnes, Jenny Starr Perez and Olivia Alvarez; Christofle’s Justin Trabert, Irene Korge, Romina Nabhen and Comcast’s Jeanie Hernandez.

The magical evening included personalized wedding favors by Miami-based Petra Soy Candles which still fill my house with the most delicious scent.

Isaac Rosenberg & Amy Zakarin

For Amy Zakarin’s wedding, she went to local bridal boutique Ever After to choose a gorgeous J. Mendel gown (I love their ready-to-wear collection at Bergdorf’s in New York City). Originally wanting to elope, the couple instead decided to do something intimate and private on New Year’s Eve. The ceremony was at Temple Israel in downtown Miami, followed by a small luncheon at The Cypress Room. What an amazing way to start the New Year!

She planned the wedding in three weeks, consulting with Karla Dascal to make sure she was staying true to herself style wise. Whether it’s a stylist or a close friend, it’s always a good idea to trust the advice of closest fashionistas on such an important day.

Congratulations to the beautiful couples, and here’s to true love and hoping everyone has a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Until next time. Xoxo
