The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program will celebrate its 11th annual gala at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental Hotel with an expected crowd of over 500 of South Florida’s leading philanthropists, celebrities and politicians. The Women of Tomorrow is planning an unforgettable evening to celebrate 15 successful years of mentoring at-risk young girls in South Florida.

The event's cocktail reception will feature lavish hors d’oeuvre stations created by the Mandarin Oriental’s executive chef, complemented by the popular silent auction which will include hundreds of items from top luxury retail, hospitality and restaurant vendors. Last year’s items included donations from Tod’s Bal Harbour, Romero Britto, Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour, The W Hotel, Neiman Marcus Bal Harbour and Barry Gibb, among many others. Some of last year’s big-ticket items included Diamond, Emerald and Orange Sapphire earrings by Jeffrey Rackover valued at $100,000, a 2011 U.S Open Package which included round-trip airfare, NBC Sports Hospitality Tent and accommodations at Four Seasons Georgetown, as well as a surprise item thrown in by a mystery guest of a one-week stay at his home on Avenue Foch in Paris.

There's always excitement at Women of Tomorrow’s gala, as celebrities often make last minute appearances to show their support. At last year’s soiree, Miami’s own Pitbull made an impromptu appearance on stage, and expressed his support of the program to a packed ballroom of 500 of WOT’s supporters. Tennis star, Serena Williams and Victoria's Secret Model, Selita Ebanks have also attended the much talked about Women of Tomorrow gala.

After the cocktail reception, guests will be escorted into the grand ballroom where they will be treated to a lavish four-course dinner and the musical talents of South Florida’s own, Soul Survivors. Tickets for the annual gala will be available in January 2012, when the theme and honorees for the event will be announced.

About Women of Tomorrow

Women of Tomorrow was conceived in 1997 by Television Journalist Jennifer Valoppi and co-founded with Don Browne, Former Telemundo Network President. The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program is designed to inspire, motivate and empower at-risk young women to live up to their full potential through a unique mentoring program with highly accomplished professional women and scholarship opportunities.

Women of Tomorrow currently mentors approximately 2,000 at-risk young women in 98 public high schools within 42 cities in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties with its network of 250 Mentors. Research shows that Women of Tomorrow Mentees have increased self-esteem, a 92% high school graduation rate, and increased academic performance each year they are in the program, to a statistically significant degree. Women of Tomorrow has awarded almost $3 million in scholarships to over 1,000 mentees.

With support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, WOT will launch its program in Metro Detroit in Fall 2011, and will continue expansion into Philadelphia and Charlotte in following years.
