Pablo Cano at The Bakehouse

With influences from the Dada and Fluxus movements, Cuban-born artist Pablo Cano uniquely forms fragments of inconsequential found objects that come to life through music and choreography in his theatrical performances. His annual exhibitions and holiday performances at North Miami's Museum of Contemporary Art are legendary, and he just celebrated his tenth consecutive year at the museum. Collected internationally, Cano's work has been displayed at prestigious institutions including the FIU-Wolfsonian, Lowe Art Museum, Bass Museum of Art, Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, the Cintas Foundation in New York City, the Columbus Museum of Art in Georgia, and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
His exhibition at The Bakehouse Art Complex, entitled "Pablo Cano at Wynwood," is his first exhibition in the burgeoning Wynwood Arts District. It showcases not only his distinctive marionettes, but also his versatile works in oil painting, mixed media, sculpture and fine ink drawings. The exhibition closes February 3.
