Q: Your new line of nail polish and lipstick called Pop of Color (available exclusively at Ricky’s NYC beauty supply store in New York City, East Hampton, and Miami) is gorgeous. Which beauty product in your line best describes Miami?
A: City by Night nail polish. It’s a copper metallic color, and it goes perfectly with a tan. Also the Kiss Me Quick lipstick, which is a bright fuchsia color. All of the names of colors in the line are inspired by Elvis songs or by something in my life. And I’m proud to say that Pop of Color is cruelty-free and vegan.
Q: Did any of the other Housewives help you name any of the products?
A: Yes, Carole (Radziwill) came to the pitch meeting with me at Ricky’s and started naming all these provocative names. I ended up taking a social media poll to see which (if any) names the public thought would be appropriate for a product name. Out of Carole’s choices, thrust won. It’s a purple nail polish color.
Q: Were you inspired by any of the Housewives in naming any of the colors in your line?
A: Delusional was inspired by a (The Real Housewives of New York) reunion show, where I told Sonja (Morgan) that she was delusional.
Q: Can you please describe your fashion blog “Last Night’s Look”?
A: My blog showcases current looks and makes it very easy for viewers to buy any of the items I am wearing. Just click on the item below the photograph where the item appears, and it takes you directly to the webpage to purchase the item. In Miami, I am thrilled to be collaborating on my blog with brands including South Beach Swimsuits and Hat Attack.
Q: Why are you currently in Miami shooting for your fashion blog “Last Night’s Look”?
A: We are in South Beach relaxing at The Betsy Hotel right now, about to head out to our next blog shoot. Currently, the light in Miami is fantastic and ideal for photo shoots. The light in New York City is not as good right now. I know Miami well because I used to live here while modeling with Next Models and Elite Model Management.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Carrie Bradshaw meets Jackie Kennedy. I have Connecticut-roots in my style, which is a more conservative type of look. I got to live out my fashion dreams on The Housewives, as the show allowed me to take more fashion risks (than I might normally do) to look fabulous on the show.
Q: If you had to vacation with one of The Housewives, which one would it be and why?
A: I’m actually seeing Heather (Thomson) for dinner tonight in Miami. And I’ll also be seeing Brandi Glanville (from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast) soon. Heather and I might go eat at Lure at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. It’s actually my favorite restaurant in New York City, and I’m thrilled that they have one here too.
Q: Can you talk about the fashion sense of some of the other Housewives?
A: Ramona (Singer) is really getting her fashion sense together. Cobalt blue is her color; she rocks it like no other person. Sonja (Morgan) has a vintage edge to her look. LuAnn (de Lesseps) also has a vintage edge and currently wears a lot of pieces from her own fashion line.
Q: Can you give us any insider tips fashion, beauty or health tips on how to be camera ready?
A: For hair - get your hair blown out. For my face - I use BB cream during the day. But if we are filming, then I use primer on my skin first, then foundation. Primer sets your make-up better. For my eyes - fake eyelashes, they make your eyes pop. I’m not afraid of fake eyelashes, a full strip of them is best!
Q: How do you get through your busy days of juggling filming, family, and modeling?
A: I nibble on Norman Love chocolates to give me energy and get me through the day.
Q: Any suggestions for the rest of us?
A: To keep my energy up, I pop a single dose of EBOOST powder in my drink. It’s made of green tea extract and gives me natural energy. And I volunteer for charities including Smile Train. That always makes for a great day.
