SEED School of Miami Celebrates Opening

Mission Statement
The SEED School of Miami is a college-preparatory, public boarding school for South Florida students. Our mission is to provide an outstanding educational program that empowers students to be successful, both academically and socially, in college and beyond. The school is the first of its kind in Florida and the third in the country, serving as a model for additional SEED schools. It was opened by The SEED Foundation, a national nonprofit that opened two similar schools in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. The vast majority of SEED graduates are first-generation college-bound students. Virtually all SEED graduates attend college.

The SEED School of Miami, in addition to providing a solution for students across South Florida who need a 24-hour learning environment, supports students in the child welfare system by providing them with a stable and nurturing place to live and learn from Sunday through Friday.

SEED doesn't stop after 12th grade. We are committed to our graduates’ success in college and beyond, and every SEED graduate will be supported by our College Transition & Success program. Through the program's hands-on advising and middle school through college success model, SEED alumni don't just become college students; they become college graduates.
